Let’s talk about Sauce Baby!
We’re different than all these mass-manufactured sauces & rubs. We make everything by hand in small batches. Our recipe is consistent, but it's like getting a cup of coffee at your local cafe....no two cups are going to be exactly the same. But you know it's going to be good because of the ingredients they use.
So why would a guy who promotes smoked meat catering and splashes his website with juicy, delicious, mouth-watering meat pictures, suddenly start talking about 'gluten-free', ‘natural sugars’ and 'vegans/vegetarians'?
Because, that’s why.
To me, BBQ and smoked meats in general, aren’t just about the wood, meat or sauce. It's a gathering of family, friends, and even strangers to share food with. It's a cooking method practiced the world over, where every culture and nationality have their own chapter in the same book.
All are welcome and we want as many people as possible to enjoy their time here.
So after getting feedback from friends, neighbors, and potential customers, we reformulated the recipe (made sure the taste didn’t change), got it retested and set myself on a mission to try to make the sauce available to more and more people. My goal wasn't a "version" of the sauce that was GF/VVF…I just wanted it to be that way out of the box.
If you don’t know, now you know.

What’s unique about our sauce? Well first, we modified the ketchup so that it now only contains natural sugars (no HFCS). Second, after getting feedback from vegan/vegetarian customers that would like to add a little sauce to their meals, we now use an anchovy-free Worcestershire sauce. Finally, we thought we’d take a chance on getting it tested for gluten after modifying a few more ingredients. And guess what? Both came back “negative” for gluten (here’s the proof!)
Yup…the sauce that you’ve come to love (or will love once you try it) is:
Gluten-free. Only natural sugars. Vegan/Vegetarian friendly.
